The principal voice of American business in Hong Kong.
AmCham HK is the principal voice of the American business community in Hong Kong. We seek to effect changes in public policy issues that affect our members, to act as a bridge between the governments of Hong Kong, Mainland China and the US, and to serve as a conduit of information to our members.
How the advocacy is done
AmCham’s advocacy supports members and the broader international business community to voice concerns and to provide suggestions to keep Hong Kong’s attractiveness to regional and international businesses through researched position papers, closed-door roundtables with senior government officials, submissions for public consultations, and engagement with the press and social media.
AmCham’s committees form the core of the chamber advocacy efforts. With guidance from the Board of Governors, committee leaders help to build the solid position for the chamber in advocacy through a variety of events and activities, ranging from premium events, informative and networking events to delegations. Committee monthly meetings are off the record and are open to AmCham members only.
Regular dialogues with government officials
Washington, Beijing, the Greater Bay Area and beyond
As well as our regular schedule of high-level delegations to Washington and Beijing, we are engaged in continuous dialogue with other business organizations, governmental agencies and leading thinkers.

I am particularly grateful to AmCham’s annual Washington Doorknock event, which is helpful in making the case (having 1,400+ US companies operating in Hong Kong) for Hong Kong.

How do I join a committee?
All that is needed is you subscribe to each Committee’s mailing list, which you can do yourself by logging in with your member account, but we’d also be very happy to help you do so. This mailing list will notify you of all future meetings and events hosted by that committee.
You don’t necessarily have to be a member to subscribe to a mailing list, but only members (except in special cases) are entitled to attend a committee meeting itself. There aren’t any specific time investments required, but to get the most out of your membership, we recommend you attend as many meetings as you can.
If you’re not a member but wish to make an enquiry or get a taster of what it’s like to be involved in an AmCham committee, email us at committees@amcham.org.hk.
Impart real change with our yearly government submissions.
Through the committees, members propose event ideas and AmCham initiatives, and discuss issues affecting their business sector.
